About the club: The club was established in 1994. Most of our 30 members are working adults in their late thirties to early sixties. Some of them live in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, others - in Kstovo, a small town 20 km to the east of Nizhny.

About the region: Nizhny Novgorod, one of the Russian Federation's 88 regions, corresponding to a state government in the U.S., is located at the center of the European Russia. Our region occupies almost 6,599 square miles in the fertile basin of the VolgaRiver and enjoys a climate similar to that of Moscow. The population of almost 1.5 million citizens makes Nizhny Russia's third largest metropolis after Moscow and St. Petersburg. Our region is famed for its specific crafts such as gorgeous Hohloma (wooden utensils), Semenovskaya Matryoshka-dolls, Gorodetskaya painting on wood etc.
